Chidinma Ekeli who was born on the 2nd of May 1991 is a Nigerian artist who decided to drop hip hop and become a religious singer. The artist rose to fame in 2010 when she became first female musician to be on the first position on the MTV based Niaja top ten list.
Chidinma released her sound Jankoliko in 2011 in an album that contained so many other great and impressive releases. In 2012 during the Kora Awards , Chidinma won best Female west African act.
The artist who is the sixth out of seven children grew up with a strict father and began singing when she was six years old. In 2017 she also joined acting and featured in a movie The Bridge directed by Kunle Afolaya. Although the artist wanted to study mass communication she finally studied sociology and got a degree in the field from the university of Lagos. In an interview the singer said music wasn’t really in her plans but she got encouraged and gave it a second thought after winning a music competition.
After Chidinma colored her hair, fans had the impression she was a good girl gone bad but she said she was just growing artistically. The artist is well loved and respected due to her decent nature which she showcases on the internet and even in her music videos. After being signed by Eezee company she transitioned to gospel music and has been doing super great.
