Niniola Apata born on the 15th of December 1986 is a Nigerian singer and song writer who was born in Lagos state nigeria. She is the elder sister of popular Nigerian singer, Teni. The artist comes from a polygamous family where she is sixth of ten raised by her mother in their father’s absence who was killed in 1995.

While in secondary school, she participated in several social activities and competitions. The artist has cited Beyoncé, Dolly Parton, Madonna as her key music influencers. Niniola released her debut single* ibadi* on the 19th of March produced by Sarz , the song received lots of reviews. In 2015, Niniola was nominated in the most promising act to watch category at the Nigeria entertainment awards.

In 2017 when she released Maradona the song spent thirteen weeks on south Africa’s metro fm maintaining the first position for 6weeks . She earned nominations. Later on , she teamed up with DJsnake and created Maradona Riddim. She received praises from Drake and Timberland.

In April 2020 she received her Grammy nomination certificate for the composer of the lion king. The artist actually describes her music as Afrohouse music which is a genre of Afro beat blended with house music. Following an interview , the artist said she loves singing in Yoruba because it makes the song sound so beautiful.
