Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known as Ruger is an Afrobeat singer and songwriter who originates from Nigeria. He was born on the 23rd of September 1999 in Lagos Nigeria. Ruga’s music genres are Reggae, Afrobeat and Afropop.

The artist who got his popularity from his single release Bounce is the only son to his parents. He started his music career when he was very young and got used to performing in shows and in school as he was part of a singing band and church choir. D prince announced the signing of Ruger into his record label on the 1st of January 2021 that is Sony Entertainment and Jonzig world which was in collaboration with Columbia records.
The song bounce had more then 45 million views and was top on the Nigerian Apple Music list and it also gained amazing positions when it came to song classifications of that year. Following this, amidst other releases he released another mind blowing single Dior. His great works made him grasp a nomination in the 2021 AFRIMA as best newcomer and most promising artist and other categories.

His competence triggered him signing ambassadorial deals like the one he signed in March 2022 with Tiger beer not leaving out the endorsement deal with Eko hotel.

Ruger is rather very calm and reserved than what he might portray in his videos. The artist for example during a show in 2022 was sexually assaulted by a fan but rather chose to walk away rather than reacting negatively, an act cheered by many who witnessed the scene.
