Born Tiwatope Savage-Balogun on the 5th of February 1980, Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian singer, song writer and performer who was born in Isale Eko in Nigeria. The artist moved to London when she was 11 to further her secondary education. The artist also lived in the United States of America for some time. In Africa, she is considered the best female singer of her generation.

Known for her melodious and charming, soul touching voice, Tiwa was already an active member of the orchestra band in her school. After completing high school, she went to the Kent University where she studied Business Administration.
The artist started her professional career when she was 16 though not in Nigeria. When she was 16, she did back up vocals for prominent artists like George Michel, Blu Chantelle and others. The artist also participated in competitions.
